Ontario job posting checker

Since January 1, 2026, Ontario employers with 25 or more employees must include certain things in every publicly advertised job posting. Paste yours to check it for the pay range, the AI disclosure, the vacancy statement and Canadian experience. Your posting stays in your browser.

Do you (or your applicant-tracking system) use AI to screen, assess or select applicants?

Hiring is the start of it

Prodigy Suite sends the written new-hire information Ontario requires at 25 or more employees, gets your policies signed in the first week, assigns the health and safety awareness training, and tracks every deadline that comes with your headcount.

Questions about Ontario’s job posting rules

Who do the Ontario job posting rules apply to?

Employers with 25 or more employees on the day a job is publicly advertised, from January 1, 2026. They don’t cover general recruitment campaigns for no specific job, general “help wanted” signs, postings only for current employees, or jobs done outside Ontario.

Do I have to include the pay in a job posting?

Yes: the expected pay or a pay range. A range can be no wider than $50,000. The rule doesn’t apply when the pay, or the top of the range, is over $200,000 a year.

What do I have to say about AI?

If you use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants, the posting must say so. That includes features of an applicant-tracking system that rank or filter applicants.

Can I ask for Canadian experience?

No. You can’t require Canadian experience in a publicly advertised job posting or its application form.

What do I owe applicants after interviews?

Tell each applicant you interviewed whether they got the job within 45 days of their last interview, and keep the posting, application form and related records for three years.
